Light Across Time
Sponsored by The Star Ferry Company Limited and Stay Bar, we are delighted to present "Light Across Time," co-organised by Reese Chang and Caroline Chu, opening on 19 September 2026 aboard the Shining Star Ferry. Featuring four Hong Kong artists—Justin Hui, Simon Liu, Daphné Mandel, and Angela Yuen—each with a distinct approach to remembrance, the group exhibition brings together fragments of history, culture, and memory amid the city’s rapid transformation. Through light and moving images, the works bridge past and present, inviting viewers to reimagine and re-experience moments of collective memory.
This site-specific exhibition transforms the historic vessel into a space for reflection and exchange across generations. What begins as a daily ritual of crossing becomes an opportunity for quiet contemplation, transforming the ferry into a suspended space where different temporalities intersect. Challenging linear narratives of time, each work prompts viewers to consider how, in an era of constant flux, Hong Kong’s cultural memory continues to shape new possibilities for our collective future.
